Today, Evil Geniuses announced that they would be making an addition to their Fighting Game roster, adding Eduardo Perez-Frangie, better known as PR Balrog, to their ranks:
Today Evil Geniuses (EG), North America’s premier professional gaming team and a world leader in e-Sports, is excited to welcome Eduardo “PRBalrog” Perez-Frangie to its Fighting Game division. Perez-Frangie, long time friends with members of the Evil Geniuses fighting game team, is one of western world’s top performing fighting game players. With the support from team Evil Geniuses “PRBalrog” will be able to make his way to more events and further prove the point that he is capable of competing amongst the world’s best.
Evil Geniuses’ General Manager, Cody Conners, stated, “The entirety of our fighting game division has been recommending PRBalrog as a must-have addition to the roster for as long as I can remember. It is absolutely thrilling to add another member to the Evil Geniuses family who already has close ties to the team.”
Perez-Frangie noted, “I’m really excited to join Team Evil Geniuses and to be able to represent them in the upcoming tournaments. I’ll train to be one step ahead of my opponent all the time.”
“PRBalrog” will be joining his teammates in his first major as a member of Evil Geniuses on August 10th, at Capcom Unity in New York City.
The addition of Eduardo brings the Evil Geniuses fighting game player roster up to six, consisting of Justin Wong, Ricky Ortiz, Ari “fLoE” Weintrab, Momochi, ChocoBlanka, and now PR Balrog. Eduardo has had a few sponsors before being scooped up by EG. He was first sponsored by vVv Gaming, playing under the tag “vVv Scrub.” Later he would be picked up by Dominion Method Gaming (DMG), and finally had a brief stint under electronic cigarette maker Vapure. PR Rog has had some impressive performances in his career, including a 2nd place finish in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament at EVO 2011, and 3rd in Super Street Fighter IV AE at this year’s EVO. PR Balrog will also be representing the US alongside teammates Dieminion and Latif in the SSFIV AE tournament at Tougeki 2012 this weekend.
