Help Send Brolylegs to EVO 2012!

I’m sure many of you know who Mike “Brolylegs” Begum is by now, thanks to Cross Counter’s spotlight last year. Much like with EVO 2011, a group has gotten together to raise funds to help Broly travel to EVO 2012. A trip of this nature is already expensive, but Broly’s unique condition compounds the cost dramatically. It would be upsetting to see a player with his determination and skill miss out on the biggest tournament of the year over a little thing like money, so let’s see if we can get him to Las Vegas for another year of competition!

The point is that people without his disability are able to have regular jobs; they are able to save the money to travel. Broly can’t. It would just be a shame to not see him at the pinnacle event of what he dedicates so much of his time and passion into.

Fun fact: Broly beat me in my very first SSBB tournament match back in 2008. He’s crazy talented.

He can not physicaly get up in the morning and get a 9 to 5 job, but he does work hard at begin the best gamer in the world everyday. Not only are we asked to donate to every stream out there which is roughly 30+ streams which any idiot with a capture card and do, now we are asked to donate for random players?

I was actually amazed to see him on the front page of SRK the first time. I had heard legends of his marth on boards from back in the day. Apparently he couldn’t even wavedash or L-cancel (because of the difficult layout) so he used to just body people with his spacing and smart play, no joke.

I’ve since played him online in SF4 multiple times, guy is a great Chun player and very nice to boot. I always feel like he’s going all out and really making me work for every bit of health.. even though I’m not nearly on his level. I appreciate that.
