Team NINJA’s Hayashi Open To Dead Or Alive Crossover

In an interview with Edge, Team NINJA head Yosuku Hayashi has stated that he would be open having Dead Or Alive cross over with another fighting franchise, similar to the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken.

According to Hayashi.

“In terms of collaboration titles, there are staff on our team who just love fighting games and if there was any chance to do that we’d actively, possibly do that.

As for what franchise he would want to work with:

“The first 3D game I played was Virtua Fighter, that’s the IP I respect most. Virtua Fighter was the father of 3D gaming, so it’s very well respected.”

So, Dead Or Alive versus Virtua Fighter? while the series are on the opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of recognition (DOA is considered more casual due to the cheesecake and VF is considered the hardest of the hardcore) both do share some similarities in terms of control. Both series might actually be a natural fit to each other.

Other bits of info include  how the team is changing their depiction of women as well as a how Hayashi’s former boss, the highly outspoken Tomonobu Itagaki, would have never sanctioned a cross over.
